10 Favourite Self-Care Products For Moms 2019

As a mom, sometimes we make self-care less of a priority than we should. We forget about ourselves when, really, we should be striving to care for ourselves better than ever! Over the past year, and especially after becoming a mom of two, I’ve needed to allot time to take care of myself. I took the time to find myself some amazing self-care products. These products really helped me relax and decided that I wanted to share those with you too!

Before I share these products, I wanted to ensure you that none of these products were gifted and I purchased them all with my own money! I mention this because I want you to know that these are some products that I truly believe in and have genuinely helped me feel better over the past year! I know it is a little early for this but without further ado, here are my Top 10 Self-Care Products for Mom’s in 2019!

1. Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask

For the past couple of months I have been using the Jet Lag Mask as a face mask, moisturizer and primer! The mask really does work as all three and did amazing things for my skin. I noticed that my pores were smaller and my skin was a lot brighter, looking less tired. As a mom, that is super important because, well, we’re always tired! I brag about this product to everyone I know because I think it is amazing! If anyone comes to me asking about self-care products, the Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask is always the first thing that comes to mind!

2. Scrunchies

These are a key product for moms. In the first year after having a baby, many moms, including myself, experience postpartum hair loss. Scrunchies are gentle and don’t tug on your scalp like regular hair ties do! They are perfect for throwing your hair up in a mom bun and they look cute too! And honestly, putting my hair up just makes me feel like I have the ability to get more done throughout the day.

3. Herbivore Jade Roller

This is one of the self-care products that was suggested to me from a friend. I have to say that I love it! Jade roller’s are made from jade stone and are meant to decrease puffiness, dark under eyes and fine lines from your face. Putting it in the fridge and rolling it on your face in the morning decreases overall puffiness in the face. It is also meant to help to make you feel a little more awake.

4. The Sun and Her Flowers by Rupi Kaur

One of my favourite things to do when spending time for myself is to read. I love to read books, poetry, blogs and articles online. Really, I like to read almost anything! The Sun and Her Flowers by Rupi Kaur (She’s from Toronto, like me!) was one of my favourite things to read when I had downtime. Her words make you sit and think. The drawings are beautiful too. I recommend this book of poetry because it was one of the only books I have ever read that I just really concentrated on and stopped paying attention to all the things around me that were stressing me out.

5. 2019/2020 Agenda

As moms we are so busy! We’ve got doctors appointments, play dates, and errands to run! Keeping track of those and the rest of your family’s schedule can get hectic. Because I’ve been working on this blog, I decided to invest in a good agenda this year to keep my blog and personal life a little more organized. I find that keeping an agenda that gives me room to write notes and plan out my month and also write out my goals each month has been extremely helpful! What better way to relax than knowing that you’ve got everything planned out and don’t have to think about it anymore?

6. Fresh Soy Face Cleanser

I used this face wash years ago and forgot about it for a while. One day I walked into Sephora and saw it again and knew I had to pick it up and try it out again. The Fresh Soy Facial Cleanser is so gentle on my sensitive skin! I have noticed a clear reduction in breakouts since I started using it again. I believe it is important to create a skincare routine. Not only for the effects it has on your skin, but I feel that mentally it prepares me for the day when I wake up and refreshes me before I go to bed!

7. Burt’s Bees Lip Balm

Burt’s Bee’s lip balm is the only chapstick that I have tried, to this day, that works well for me. I have noticed that many other chapsticks that I have tried clog the pores around my lips and cause me to break out a little. It also happens to be the only lip balm that I have ever finished without losing! Applying lip balm is a part of my daily routine, whether or not I am going out so it was a pretty big deal for me to find this one! My favourite part is that this lip balm is 100% natural!

8. Blender Bottle (Nila)

Water is the most important self-care product out there. Drinking enough water throughout the day will have amazing benefits on your body. Your skin, nails and hair will improve. Even your digestive system will improve as it flushes toxins out of your body! I absolutely love my Nila Blender Bottle. Ever since I got it, I’ve been drinking an adequate amount of water every day. Personally, I really love that it doesn’t have a straw that sticks out of the bottle, I’m not sure why but it is really appealing to me!

9. Diorshow Onstage Liquid Eyeliner (Dior)

Whenever I do my makeup, I cannot live without eyeliner. I started wearing liquid liner when I was in grade 10 and I got so many compliments that I just made it a part of my routine. Not that I care anymore what other’s opinions on my makeup are, but because of that moment, eyeliner now gives me such a boost in confidence I won’t look back! I personally don’t use this Dior Eyeliner yet because I just found it recently and am not in need of a new one yet. However, I tried the Diorshow eyeliner on in store and loved its look, consistency and ability to not smudge.

10. La Terre Fashion Vegan Leather Backpack

Whether you’re going out on a date, with friends or with your kids we almost always have a bag on us to carry our necessities. One thing I’ve been loving recently is carrying around a small backpack. I used to carry around a huge diaper bag, but it was such a hassle to carry, and not to mention super heavy! I saw this backpack when I was out shopping and had to pick it up! It was very affordable, really cute, and vegan leather. I included this in self-care because I think fashion or even taking the time to dress up is a form of taking care of ourselves too.
